We have now had the boys all home together for 6 weeks. Mindy has been back at work now for a couple of weeks and we are getting into our routine. We have our schedules setup so that on Mondays Mindy goes into work real early, then I go in for the afternoon. On Tuesdays I try to work at home while watching the boys. On Wednesday and Thursday Grandma rearranged her schedule to take off from work and come over to watch all three (with help from Grandpa) so we can both go in to work. Then on Friday, Mindy works from home and watches the kids. Luckily, one of the nurses from the NICU or Spencer's cuddler have been coming over on Fridays for several hours during the day to help out a little which is a great blessing as you can't do much else if you are watching them by yourself. Without the extra help from everyone, especially my parents and Jenny, I am not sure how we would have been able to manage.
Cody is now 10lbs! He is eating his brothers under the table. He can eat a full 6 oz in a sitting, and can do it in about 15 min - although he usually eats between 4 and 5 oz. During the day Cody is usually ready to eat every 3 hours, but at night he periodically sleeps through a feeding and will go 6 hours or so every so often.
Kian is 10lbs 14oz. He is also eating between 4 oz and 5 oz at a time but it will take him a good 30 to 45 minutes to do so. He started taking longer to eat when we got him off the oxygen. That's right; Kian is no longer on any oxygen support. He does like to let us know when it is time to eat, and really likes to eat every three hours. Fortunately he is starting to sleep more at night too. Ounce to ounce, Kian has put on more weight then his brothers over the last month.
Spencer is 11lbs 4oz. We stopped two of his medicines this past week, and he has really started to get an appetite. He hit his target weight gain the last week, so we are very happy with his progress. He started feeding him baby cereal too, but he is now showing a real preference to the bottle. We are going to go another two weeks, and then he will go in with his brothers for a 6month checkup and get reweighed. In the meantime, he is down to prevacid , vitamins, and the nebulizer. Of course he is still on 1/2 liter of oxygen too, but that is it for meds.
I have been periodically updating the photos on the website. I have not posted any new one yet this week, but I do have some new ones posted with a visit from Great Grandma earlier in the month. You can check them out on http://www.squeaker.com/babycentral/
