Can you believe the triplets will be 6 weeks old this week? What a blur. We didn't have too many changes over the past week, but they all had good growth and we expect good news as they reach key milestones over the next week or two.
Weight: Spencer is now over 4lbs, Kian is around 3.5lbs and Cody is now just over 3lbs. The growth over the past week has really been noticeable as they are really starting to look like typical babies.
Head Scans: The head scans last week showed healing. Spencer's grade one is resolving, and Kian's grade three has shown significant improvements. They are going to continue to watch Kian as he heals, but currently he is doing very well. Cody's 30 days head scan showed he is fine as well.
Respiratory: Kian is continuing to breathe on little more then a nasal cannula. He has been going strong for about a week now. Spencer has been on c-pap for the past week, with short breaks as he moves to nasal cannula. As he does better he will get longer breaks. Cody has been on a c-pap for a good part of the last week, but there is talk about starting him on sprints of nasal cannula as well. Overall they are doing well.
Temperature: All three are now off the climate controlled incubators. The incubators are now set to a specific temperature, and the baby's are supporting their own temperature in the controlled environment. As they get stronger and better control their body heat the incubators will be set to room temperature, and evenly they will be promoted to cribs instead of incubators. We are not there yet, but it sure is exciting to see we are getting closer.
New pictures have been posted to the website -
http://www.squeaker.com/babycentral - and hopefully new changes will be posted to the website itself soon. Sorry to anyone who tried to look at photos early last week and found the link broken. I was making changes and didn't finish. It should be working now.
